Stay Safe

I know you haven’t heard from me in awhile, but its been a bit hectic, and I was also just taking a hard life easy, as I was traumatized by a home invasion that happened to a close friend recently. With that said, I’d strongly advise all and sundry to secure your home and family by getting an ADT Security System.

ADT has been around since the 1800s, and is a top-rated supplier electronic security systems. For just around $1 per day, you can have an ADT-monitored home security system that will help to keep you safe from break-ins, home invasions and other similar breaches. A home alarm is a worthwhile investment because it is a very effective deterrent against your home being broken into.

That aside, you need to be aware at all times, and be wary too. Don’t leave keys in doors or lying carelessly around. Don’t leave certain windows or doors unlocked. Try not to let too many persons be aware of your movements (for e.g. if you plan to be out of town). Report suspicious looking persons or activity in your neighbor. Stay in close contact with your neighbors …. form an alliance of sorts. These are among the important steps that you can take to stay safe and secure your home.

Most importantly, consider getting ADT security. They are worth the financial outlay due to their effectiveness in preventing crime.

Shop.Com Gift Cards

I’m almost ready to do my 2009 Christmas shopping, and it’s safe to say that just about all my shopping will be done online. Typically, I use Amazon.Com, but this year I am looking into a couple other options, the most notable of which is shop.com, and more specifically, their gift cards section, because in many instances this year, I’ll be giving gift cards, not actually gifts, so people can go buy what they really like – not what I guess/suppose that they like.

Shop.Com’s gift cards section is nicely set out with options “for him”, “for her”, “for teen girls”, “for teen boys”, “for girls” and “for boys”. From there, the categories/types of available gift cards are appropriately organized under the respective headings above. For example, under gift cards “for him”, the immediate options are for Home Depot, Sports fan Warehouse, L.L Bean, QVC., Old Navy and MLB Shop. For all my girlfriends, I’ll definitely be buying them gift cards (as many of them will be buying makeup of course) and favorites like Nordstrom and Kohl’s are available. I like the convenience and organized nature of Shop.Com’s gift cards section, and I’ll definitely be utilizing it and buying a few later this week.

Is there someone you’d like to give a gift card to this holiday season? You should definitely consider getting ‘em a Shop.Com gift card!

Estee Lauder Reports Good Results

As the recession ends, the beauty products industry is one of the ‘unsuspecting’ sectors which have surprised analysts this earnings season, with better-than-expected results. Estee Lauder Co. is the latest to report results for its first quarter which trumped analysts’ estimates of US$0.34 per share, with a profit of US$140.7M or US$0.71 per share, up from US$51.1M or US$0.26 per share a year earlier.

Estee Lauder boasted higher earnings across all of its segments, which were helped by improved demand in Asia.

Estee Lauder Shares Overvalued?

After swinging to a loss in its fourth quarter ended June 30, 2009, the bad news keeps coming in for The Estee Lauder Companies Inc. The beauty products company was added to Goldman Sachs Group Inc.’s “Conviction Sell” list earlier this week – on concerns that its shares are overvalued.

According to an analyst at Goldman Sachs, “Estee Lauder has overshot its fundamental value on optimism around the company’s restructuring plan and the potential for a return to solid sales growth as the economy recovers.” As a consequence, Estee Lauder’s share price fell 2.39% to close at US$ 38.73 on this news.
