Get Those ‘Summer Eyes’

Here’s a quick step-by-step guide to a great summer makeup look that accentuates the eyes; get those ’summer eyes’!

  1. Keep the rest of your face neutral; start with a layer of primer to give a nice matte surface. Take a brush and pack on some gold eye shadow – something that’s really vibrant – to just above the eye crease, then take a blender brush and, starting from the outer corner, and blend in along the lid.
  2. Use your finger to dab a tiny amount of primer below your eye. Then, take a dark green eye shadow and, using an angled liner brush, sketch a line from the outer edge.
  3. Get some glow. Try taking a creamy eyeliner pencil and draw it along the waterline. Get some definition with a coat of mascara – to yout lower lashes, too. The aim is to get wispy, defined lashes.
  4. And finally, give yourself one coat of lip gloss. Try a a tea-colored one which doesn’t look too shimmery. To finish up and for an even fresher look, trying adding a dusting of light bronzer.

Sweet Smells For The Bedroom

If you’ve been following my posts for some time, you’ll know that I’m always on a home decorating and improvement ‘trip’, always looking to make my home that much more nicer to be in. Yesterday, I decided I needed some sweet smells for our bedroom, so I was on the hunt for some cool room fragrance options. I came across Sabon NYC (a bath and body store) online, and found a world of room fragrance choices, from reed diffuser oil to drawer liners and aromatherapy oils.

For my bed room fragrance, I chose a vanilla-scented aromatic oil that my husband smelled and liked as soon as he stepped through the door. While I was at it, I also got a sugar scrub (an awesome-looking body scrub) and some essential oils. I truly see my home as my sanctuary, my sacred space, and my bedroom, even more so – I know the sweet smells for my bedroom will help to produce some happy memories; you think!?

The International Make-Up Artist Trade Show Is On This Weekend

The International Make-Up Artist Trade Show (more popularly known as “The Show” in makeup circles) is on this weekend at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, California. For make-up artists, vendors, manufacturers and enthusiasts, “The Show” is the best place to gather, discuss, display, discover and collect the best that the makeup industry has to offer.

It’s the only show of its kind in the world, and thousands of persons are expected to pass through on Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21. Note, “The Show” is open to the public, no make-up artist credentials are required to get in. There’ll be keynote speakers (including award-winning makeup artists), educational demonstrations, free samples (who doesn’t love free makeup samples??), and make-up competitions (including extreme makeup contests, such as monsters and more).

If you’re in Pasadena, be sure to check it out; the opening hours are:
Saturday 8:30am-5:00pm
Sunday 10:00am-5:00pm

Cool Modular Lockers

I’ve been focusing on the kids’ room … moving stuff around, hanging a few things, and since they’re all into outdoor sports, I considered getting them some cool looking lockers for their bathroom. I thought finding lockers for sale would be tough, but I found the perfect solution – modular lockers. Check out the pic of what I am getting below. It’s a silver-colored modular locker with a window :)

I’m getting through morelockers.com. They offer a world of locker solutions – from standard lockers to stadium lockers to locker benches. Their prices are low (I searched and compared at a few places) and their selection of locker options seems unparalleled, carrying all the top manufacturers of lockers, as well as the latest styles and colors. Be sure to check ‘em out if you’re trying to be creative (as I was) or if somehow you’re in the need for lockers for your business.

I Got A Custom Address Plaque

More beautification for the summer, yesterday I ordered a custom address plaque (sign) for our yard. A nice pretty sign that says “4678 MYROAD Name” (can’t tell you where :) ). No, I’m not trying to keep up with the Joneses and the Smiths next door but little personalized items add a good touch to the look of your house / yard and I’m all about having good-looking surroundings.

I got my address sign via justaddressplaques.com; they offer a world of address plaques and options, carrying all the top manufacturers of address plaques, as well as the latest styles and colors. Residential address plaques, commercial address plaques, address numbers, address posts, you name it and they’ve got you covered in this area and with the best low prices guaranteed too.

Be sure to check ‘em out if you’re on the market to beautify your home / yard for this summer.
