Okay, so I’ve been obsessing about new furniture, redecorating the house, just everything and anything to get a cool new jazzy feeling. I’ve tried a few online furniture stores with good results, but I think I’ve found the best modern furniture option yet. It’s eroomservice.com, and they offer EVERYTHING – bedroom furniture (including Platform Beds), amazing living room sets, kids room stuff, dining room, you name it!

Of course, being beauty and a little self-obsessed, I checked out their extensive offering of mirrors – they’ve got humongous floor mirrors, trendy fly mirrors, freestanding mirrors by Doimo and of course some cool ones for your dresser as well. Being and staying beautiful is not that hard. It’s work, but it’s not hard work. Here are my 10 steps to beauty – day in day out for 2009!

1. Cleanse then moisturize your face
2. Apply a foundation that matches your complexion
3. For your eyes, use “in” earth tones such as shades of brown and gold
4. Highlight the brow bone to upper lash line with the preferred shade of gold
5. From the crease to eyelid, add brown shadow then blend the colors
6. Line your eyes (top & bottom) – with a brown or light-brown liner … then smudge. Lines should not be too thick, and should be as close to the lash line as possible
7. Apply mascara to your lashes then fill brows with brow powder (dark-brown colored)
8. Soften jaw lines with blush – apply to your cheeks (be sure to smile while applying your blush
9. Line your lips with a neutral color (to help define them)
10. Use something clear on lips or, for a little color, you could try applying a little pink or gold lip gloss

Dolce & Gabbana, the 23-year-old design house that’s more known for tight-fitting clothes and racy advertising will be unveiling their new line of makeup (a multi-million dollar collaboration with Procter & Gamble Co.) in the U.S. next month. We’ve already heard talk of their lipstick being in the $30 price range (i.e. higher even than Chanel and Dior) and their other cosmetics being quite pricey (as is the case with their fashion line).

With the country and the world at large seemingly in the midst of a deepening recession, it will be interesting to see what the demand will be like for these new pricey products. Dolce and Gabbana reportedly said that launching a makeup line has been a dream of theirs for more than a decade. I wish them luck, and look forward to at least being able to sample some of their cosmetics when launched.

I’m still on the hunt for more cool, modern, contemporary furniture options, and recently came across GoModern.Co.Uk. The seem to provide really cool and top quality contemporary furniture, with some seemingly amazing value-for-money options with trendy new designs.

Of course, you can buy directly via their website … everything from black furniture to laminate and wood kitchens to Flueless fire to glass furniture. Note also their black sideboards, black dining tables and glass tables as well – you name it, they have it, and in awesome style too.
