Yes You Can Wear Makeup To The Gym

Of course you can wear makeup to the gym … without worrying that it’s going to run all over the place when you get sweaty and messy. Here are the perfect gym makeup solutions for you:

  • Use a tinted moisturizer instead of foundation. This way you can get some color without worrying that it will run faster than you can jog. If you absolutely MUST wear foundation, then try to find one that’s sweat-proof and/or oil-free or gel/silicone based.
  • Forget about using blush and bronzer – in any case, you’ll have a nice natural flush / glow from the workout itself.
  • For the eyes, you can try gel or liquid based formulas.
  • Try also – waterproof mascara and liquid eyeliner.
  • Last but not least, put a little tinted chapstick on to give your lips a natural rosy hue.

Was Looking For A New Mailbox

We had an old derelict-looking mailbox on our door for maybe the last 15 years or so; well, I finally upped and got a new one courtesy of Whitehall Mailboxes. I got us a wall-mounted one similar to the one pictured here which cost just $135 and Whitehall Mailboxes shipped it for free!

My neighbor got a new one recently as well; which sort-of prompted me to make the move to stop ‘bringing down’ the neighborhood with our tattered old one, and get it changed asap. I’m not so big on aesthetics such as a mailbox on a wall; I’m more into having a well-manicured lawn and flowers and such but this one was well overdue and needed to happen.

That’s all from me for today. Check out Whitehall Mailboxes if you want to get a real snazzy looking mailbox at a good price. They had numerous types too .. wall mounted ones, streetside ones, custom-monogramed ones with the initial of your last name … you name it they got it! Enjoy your weekend … don’t forget the makeup :)

How to Get that Flawless Face?

From magazines to movies to television, we’re surrounded by beautiful women with seemingly flawless-looking faces. Then you wonder what happened with you? Fret now, you are perfectly normal, it’s just a tiny percentage of persons that actually have a blemish-free flawless-looking face. And even then, if you look closely, I’m sure you’ll see many flaws.

So how do us imperfect women get that flawless face look? Thanks to the wonders of makeup, it’s actually possible, here are my own few secrets on getting that flawless face look:

  1. Use a tinted moisturizer. This will help to cover up your minor imperfections, while still allowing your skin to breathe. It also has the added benefit of SPF30 to protect you from the harmful rays of the sun (i.e. reduce chances of early wrinkling, age spots and skin cancer)
  2. Use a bronzer – especially if you have pale skin. A bronzer will help to give you that perfect “sun-kissed glow”, while also helping to contour your face and highlight your cheekbones. Powdered bronzers are typically easier to apply, and with just a few swishes on your cheekbones, forehead and chin, you’ll be all set to go.
  3. Use a concealer – as the name implies, it helps to conceal things.
    i.e. conceal blemishes.
A concealer is great for hiding those ugly circles under your eyes and simply helping you to look refreshed and alert, especially on those downer mornings.

Hope these tips were useful and good luck on your quest for that flawless-looking face.

Spring Makeup Tips

Some of us are still buried under feet or inches of snow, but that doesn’t mean we can’t start thinking and dreaming of what our Spring makeup will look like this year. Here are some spring makeup tips for you:

  • Go for “the glow” – Spring makeup brings out the rosy glow that winter had taken away from your face. Begin the glow regimen with a skincare masque to hydrate your dull, dehydrated winter skin.
  • Use a tinted moisturizer as foundation – and try even going a shade darker than your natural complexion (to add warmth).
  • A bronzer is ESSENTIAL – apply a light dusting of bronzer where the sun would naturally hit the face – cheek bones, bridge of nose, forehead and chin.
  • Stay away from terracotta orange bronzers of the past – opt for more natural brown tones.
  • Don’t be too obvious – Class favors the look of rosy pink blush worn under bronzer. It mimicks an afternoon spent in the sun, without the obvious “made up” look.
  • Your eyes should shimmer – Eyes for spring are awash in light, luminescent finishes, not heavy liner and dark shadows. Try neutral shades such as copper, gold or champagne lit with sparkle (to flatter all skin tones and ages). Add a touch of shine to the eyes’ inner corners using an almost-white, shimmery powder or cream. Class also favors a bare-eyed look, with minimal shadow and a coat of mascara – to allow glowing skin to take center stage.
  • Brush your lips – A gentle brush will exfoliate dry lips and give a plumping effect.
  • More lip power – A bit of neutral shimmery eye shadow drawn very subtly over the top lip can accentuate the shape. Also, using a pearly gloss dabbed just in the center of the lip will help to make them look fuller.
  • Spring 2009 colors – Glowing, soft and feminine are all the buzz for the face of spring 2009. Here are the colors that will help you to get there – Gold, Peach and Lilac.

That’s all for today .. hope you found these Spring makeup tips useful!
