Sweat-proof Makeup
Summer’s almost here, and what better way to stay beautiful and beat the heat, than with sweat-proof makeup. If you’re heading to the pool, beach or lake, then waterproof makeup is a must. However, a day in the park, backyard barbeque, a summer wedding or any other outdoor type events or activities require sweat-proof makeup.
Tinted Moisturizers
For a sunny summer day, you don’t need a lot of makeup, so trying switching your liquid foundation to a tinted moisturizer instead. Tinted moisturizers serve a double purpose in that they can hydrate your skin and also cover imperfections. Two recommendations: Clinique Moisture Sheer Tint and Juice Beauty SPF 30 Tinted Moisturizer. Clinique Moisture Sheer Tint is a truly natural beauty product. It is made with organic white grape and pomegranate juices and will supply your skin with antioxidants and essential nutrients. Stila Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer is a long-lasting tinted moisturizer that can “take the heat”. It offers sun protection and see-through color to help even out your skin for a flawless finish. Both these products are available at SEPHORA.
The Trish McEvoy Protective Shield Moisturizer is a long-lasting and sweat-proof product that’s perfect for wearing to the beach, ball games and other outdoor events.
Eye Makeup
Eyeshadow tends to crease and smear in heat and humidity. So you should always be sure to use a primer as a base for your eye shadow. Apply the primer over your entire lid and extend upwards to the brow bone. Curl your eyelashes and then add one coat of smudge-proof mascara. You can skip the eyeliner during the daytime.
Lips & Cheeks
Keep your lip and cheek color light and simple. If you’re wearing a bronzer, you can drop the cheek color. If not, use a light shade of blush (powder, not cream or gel because they fade in the heat) just on the apples of your cheek. For lips, use a tinted lip balm or pink lip gloss instead of lipstick. Gloss will last longer if you apply a light dusting of translucent powder before application.
Last word on staying fresh in the heat
If you are going to spend prolong periods in the sunlight, look for makeup with SPF-15 or higher. Always carry blotting papers to rid your skin of oil and freshen makeup throughout the day. Always wear sunglasses to protect your eyes. Consider wearing a hat to protect your hair and scalp, as well as to shade your face.
