10 Steps To Beauty

Being and staying beautiful is not that hard. It’s work, but it’s not hard work. Here are my 10 steps to beauty – day in day out for 2009!

  1. Cleanse then moisturize your face
  2. Apply a foundation that matches your complexion
  3. For your eyes, use “in” earth tones such as shades of brown and gold
  4. Highlight the brow bone to upper lash line with the preferred shade of gold
  5. From the crease to eyelid, add brown shadow then blend the colors
  6. Line your eyes (top & bottom) – with a brown or light-brown liner … then smudge. Lines should not be too thick, and should be as close to the lash line as possible
  7. Apply mascara to your lashes then fill brows with brow powder (dark-brown colored)
  8. Soften jaw lines with blush – apply to your cheeks (be sure to smile while applying your blush :)
  9. Line your lips with a neutral color (to help define them)
  10. Use something clear on lips or, for a little color, you could try applying a little pink or gold lip gloss

And there you have it … 10 steps to beauty that you can follow every morning or whenever. Good luck, and stay beautiful!

Yes You Can Wear Makeup To The Gym

Of course you can wear makeup to the gym … without worrying that it’s going to run all over the place when you get sweaty and messy. Here are the perfect gym makeup solutions for you:

  • Use a tinted moisturizer instead of foundation. This way you can get some color without worrying that it will run faster than you can jog. If you absolutely MUST wear foundation, then try to find one that’s sweat-proof and/or oil-free or gel/silicone based.
  • Forget about using blush and bronzer – in any case, you’ll have a nice natural flush / glow from the workout itself.
  • For the eyes, you can try gel or liquid based formulas.
  • Try also – waterproof mascara and liquid eyeliner.
  • Last but not least, put a little tinted chapstick on to give your lips a natural rosy hue.

Hope you found these gym makeup tips useful :)

How to Get that Flawless Face?

From magazines to movies to television, we’re surrounded by beautiful women with seemingly flawless-looking faces. Then you wonder what happened with you? Fret now, you are perfectly normal, it’s just a tiny percentage of persons that actually have a blemish-free flawless-looking face. And even then, if you look closely, I’m sure you’ll see many flaws.

So how do us imperfect women get that flawless face look? Thanks to the wonders of makeup, it’s actually possible, here are my own few secrets on getting that flawless face look:

  1. Use a tinted moisturizer. This will help to cover up your minor imperfections, while still allowing your skin to breathe. It also has the added benefit of SPF30 to protect you from the harmful rays of the sun (i.e. reduce chances of early wrinkling, age spots and skin cancer)
  2. Use a bronzer – especially if you have pale skin. A bronzer will help to give you that perfect “sun-kissed glow”, while also helping to contour your face and highlight your cheekbones. Powdered bronzers are typically easier to apply, and with just a few swishes on your cheekbones, forehead and chin, you’ll be all set to go.
  3. Use a concealer – as the name implies, it helps to conceal things.
    i.e. conceal blemishes.
A concealer is great for hiding those ugly circles under your eyes and simply helping you to look refreshed and alert, especially on those downer mornings.

Hope these tips were useful and good luck on your quest for that flawless-looking face.

How to Apply Mineral Makeup

Mineral makeup is a hot trend for 2009. For those of us who want that natural look, or matte finish, this is the product for you. The trick however is application of this natural-based organic product, but what’s the best way to apply mineral makeup? Please note, if you don’t apply your make up correctly, you obviously will not end up looking the way you intended; and we definitely wouldn’t want that now, would we?

Things that you’ll need in order to apply your Mineral Makeup

• Foundation
• Setting Powder
• Blush
• Eye Shadow
• Eye Liner
• Mascara
• Lipstick
• Kabuki Brush
• Eyeliner Brush
• Finishing powder
• Mineral concealer
• Mineral brush

Steps – How to Apply Mineral Makeup

1. Cleanse face thoroughly – Before you begin applying any makeup, your face should be clean and free of excess oils. Use a cleanser that will not dry out your skin.

2. Moisturize your face – Mineral powder adheres to the natural oil of your skin, so if your face is too dry, the powder could end up looking like just what it is, powder, and you don’t want that. So apply moisturizer and wait a few minutes, and allow it to completely absorb before applying your mineral makeup.

3. Apply concealer – Concealers help to cover any blemishes or dark spots you may have. Pour a small amount of mineral concealer into the cap of the jar which will prevent you from using too much. For best results use a shade lighter than your foundation.

4. Apply foundation – Swirl kabuki brush in the cap. Tap the brush to get rid of excess powder. This brush is excellent for coverage of large areas of your face. Use the kabuki brush to apply foundation in a circular motion on face and neck area as needed. Start lightly on the cheeks and then gently move to the sides of your face. The brush will allow the powder to hold to your skin. Your coverage is dependent on how much you buff, so reapply to any areas you feel may need more coverage. You may repeat this process with your mineral brush for enhancement to your cheeks if desired.

5. Apply Blush – You will need a large makeup brush to apply your blush. Add a little blush to your brush and starting at your cheekbone, brush the blush from your hair line going down to the apple of the cheek. Do not go back and forth as you may end up with streaks across the cheeks.

6. Apply setting powder – This is applied just as how you apply your foundation. Setting powder allows makeup to stay longer on your face. It really makes a difference when used. You could try ‘Mineral Veil’ by Bare Minerals which is really good.

7. Apply finishing powder – You may follow up with a finishing powder for that perfect matte finish if you desire.

Helpful Tips
• Use a moisturizer that will not clog your pores.
• If you have oily skin you can use the setting powder as a base as it absorbs oil naturally from the skin
• Apply eyeliner before your foundation for best results.
• Choose a foundation that is as close as possible to your skin color; remember the idea is to look natural. Always apply foundation in light layers for the best coverage.
• Apply mineral eye shadow using lighter colors under the brow and the darker colors on the lid.
• Use quality mascara to improve the look of your lashes. Mascaras with keratin are said to be healthy for your lashes.
• When applying lipstick use a natural colored pencil to line lips and then fill in with lipstick making sure to blend in liner with lipstick or gloss.
• A mineral brush which is smaller than the kabuki brush is great to use when concealing.
• Mineral makeup is great for those of you who have skin conditions such as eczema or acne as it is said to have some healing properties.

Okay, now you’re all set. Just remember that once your makeup is applied properly, it gives you an unblemished flawless finish that does not look like makeup at all, but looks as though you have beautiful, healthy skin that has been enhanced. Now isn’t that what you want? You know it is! Stay beautiful.

Smokey Eyes Makeup Tip

Here’s your Smokey Eyes Makeup Tip update. Want to know how to get that perfect ‘Smokey’ eye effect with your makeup? If you don’t know how to do it, we’ll tell you how.

Goal
In order to create the perfect ‘Smokey’ eyes, your goal is to make the lid area dark, and highlight the brow area. This will draw instant attention to your eyes. Obviously, you can’t use light colors in order to create this effect, you must use dark shade colors. Note too, it’s not entirely about the darkness of the color, but more about the “drama” in how you make it look.

Tools Needed
Medium gray eye shadow, dark eye shadow, black mascara, black eyeliner, and base eye shadow.

Steps

  1. Apply your eyeliner
  2. Apply the main eye shadow on the whole eyelid. Be sure to blend it
  3. Take your medium color eye shadow and apply it to the eyelid as well
  4. Apply your black mascara. Be sure to use three coats.

Presto, that’s it. Visual aides will be added to this post soon. The most important smokey eyes makeup tip to remember is “blending” factor. You have to keep blending and experiment in order to achieve the perfect sexy smokey eyes effect.
