The trick however is application of this natural-based organic product, but what’s the best way to apply mineral makeup? Please note, if you don’t apply your make up correctly, you obviously will not end up looking the way you intended; and we definitely wouldn’t want that now, would we?
Things that you’ll need in order to apply your Mineral Makeup
• Foundation
• Setting Powder
• Blush
• Eye Shadow
• Eye Liner
• Mascara
• Lipstick
• Kabuki Brush
• Eyeliner Brush
• Finishing powder
• Mineral concealer
• Mineral brush
Steps – How to Apply Mineral Makeup
1. Cleanse face thoroughly – Before you begin applying any makeup, your face should be clean and free of excess oils. Use a cleanser that will not dry out your skin.
2. Moisturize your face – Mineral powder adheres to the natural oil of your skin, so if your face is too dry, the powder could end up looking like just what it is, powder, and you don’t want that. So apply moisturizer and wait a few minutes, and allow it to completely absorb before applying your mineral makeup.
3. Apply concealer – Concealers help to cover any blemishes or dark spots you may have. Pour a small amount of mineral concealer into the cap of the jar which will prevent you from using too much. For best results use a shade lighter than your foundation.
4. Apply foundation – Swirl kabuki brush in the cap. Tap the brush to get rid of excess powder. This brush is excellent for coverage of large areas of your face. Use the kabuki brush to apply foundation in a circular motion on face and neck area as needed. Start lightly on the cheeks and then gently move to the sides of your face. The brush will allow the powder to hold to your skin. Your coverage is dependent on how much you buff, so reapply to any areas you feel may need more coverage. You may repeat this process with your mineral brush for enhancement to your cheeks if desired.
5. Apply Blush – You will need a large makeup brush to apply your blush. Add a little blush to your brush and starting at your cheekbone, brush the blush from your hair line going down to the apple of the cheek. Do not go back and forth as you may end up with streaks across the cheeks.
6. Apply setting powder – This is applied just as how you apply your foundation. Setting powder allows makeup to stay longer on your face. It really makes a difference when used. You could try ‘Mineral Veil’ by Bare Minerals which is really good.
7. Apply finishing powder – You may follow up with a finishing powder for that perfect matte finish if you desire.
Helpful Tips
